Perth Folk and Roots Club are supporting the Perth Music 70’s 80’s Showcase with Neil Fernandes (Manikins) and Greg Dear (Beautiful Losers) on Sunday 17th May 2026. The performances are from 5.30pm to 8.30pm at Lyric’s Underground, Basement, 22 Lyric Lane, Maylands and entry tickets are $35 plus booking fee online at Oztix:

Neil Fernandes was a guitarist and songwriter with the Manikins, one of the biggest bands in late 70s early 80’s Perth. The Manikins and past incarnations featured such Australian musical luminaries as Dave Faulkner (The Hoodoo Gurus) and Kim Salmon (The Scientists) and drove pop, new wave and punk to new heights. Greg Dear is a guitarist and songwriter who has a long history in the Perth and Australian music scene. His band Beautiful Losers formed in 1987 after the demise of The Holy Rollers (1984-1986). They recorded a song for an ABC Records compilation celebrating the arrival of Radio Station JJJ in Perth and also played the first ever JJJ Live-At-The-Wireless in Perth to be broadcast nationally.
