Join designer and leatherworker Katie Roe in a fun, creative workshop making a set of personalised christmas tree decorations from premium leather.You will select from a range of designs and make two beautiful leather decorations that can be personalised with initials. Using neutral leather colours you will create unique hanging decorations that can include colourful bauble detailing, foils and personalised lettering in de-bossed or coloured options. You will learn how to burnish edges, add silver or brass rivets and how to operate the hot-foil machine. Katie will share her passion & experience of design & leather craft throughout the workshop. It's the perfect chance to make thoughtful Christmas gifts for loved ones, or to create your very own tree decorations that will last a lifetime.
All materials & aprons are provided. The workshop is suitable for those who have never picked up a leather crafting tool to the more experienced makers who love to learn new skills.
Hot drinks and festive biscuits are included.
Katie Roe Bio - Katie Roe is the designer and owner of Katie Roe Studio, creating leather accessories by hand, that combine traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic, and runs workshops teaching skills in traditional leatherwork whilst sharing her design knowledge and expertise. Katie also works as a lecturer on the Fashion Design degree at Leeds Arts University. She enjoys educating others on sustainable design and supporting workshop attendees in creating hand crafted leather pieces that will age beautifully over time. Originally from Leeds, after studying fashion, Katie spent over a decade in New York working as a womenswear designer for brands including Abercrombie & Fitch, GAP, and J.Crew before returning home to raise her family. Her designs have been frequently featured in publications including Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and presentations during New York Fashion Week.

Stitch-Up CIC is a social enterprise supporting people of all ages to learn new skills, improve wellbeing and connect with others through craft & creativity.
Our studio is based at Meanwood Community Centre, Stainbeck Avenue, LS7 2QU.
There is ample parking at the Community Centre Car Park. If you cannot fit in the Car Park, please park on Stainbeck Avenue and with consideration to the residents please do not park in the cul-de-sac.
The Stitch-Up Studio is to the rear of the Community Centre. Once you arrive in reception please follow the signs for Stitch-Up or ring our door bell if the main entrance door is locked and we will come and let you in.
