About this Event

Most organisations still manage performance through templates completed periodically. Meanwhile, AI has entered HR almost everywhere – but mostly to improve efficiency, drafting letters and templates faster, not to change how people are managed or how they reason about their goals.

This session looks at what happens when AI is designed to facilitate human interaction: putting the person at the center, enabling a manager to be a better manager and employees to perform better. Tarandeep Singh, Partner at Inspiring Minds and a build partner of IBM, will share the story of a performance accelerator built on IBM watsonx Orchestrate. It links an organisation's competencies, goals and individual behaviours, and uses real-time system generated signals to nudge people – managers and employees – towards the actions that raise performance, week by week, in the flow of work: possible actions, missed opportunities, emerging risks.

The focus is not technology but the question behind it: how do we use AI to make individuals successful, and what does that mean for HR, for line managers and for the employee experience? Tarandeep will also share early lessons from a CHRO roundtable held at IBM's Innovation Centre and be candid about the boundaries AI needs in a domain as confidential and human as performance.

What attendees will gain

  • A clear picture of how AI can move performance management from a periodic form to continuous, in-the-flow support
  • A practical framework for linking competencies, goals and behaviours in a way AI can act on
  • An honest view of the risks – data confidentiality, bias, over-automation – and the governance needed before deploying AI in people processes
  • Questions to ask vendors, and of your own organisation, before investing in AI for performance

Who should attend

HR directors and business partners, L&D and talent leaders, HR technology and people analytics professionals, and anyone responsible for performance management in their organisation. Members and non-members welcome.
