About this Event
The Pan African Women of Faith Ecumenical Empowerment Network (PAWEEN) invites you to its 2026 Annual Conference, Re-Membering Memory: Our Pan-African Families, Soil, and Wealth.
Grounded in 1 Corinthians 12:21-25, "so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other," this year's gathering brings women of faith together to reclaim our shared history, examine the policies that shaped today's racial wealth gap, and turn reflection into action.
Over three days you will:
• Hear from global church and advocacy leaders from Bread for the World, the World Council of Churches, and the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC-CETA)
• Join theological reflection on land, family, and economic justice
• Visit Barry Farm in Southeast DC to honor the resilience and resistance of the women of that community
• Advocate on Capitol Hill on Lobby Day (Thursdays in Black)
• Experience the Racial Wealth Gap Simulation and a global look at the impact of more than 300,000 Black women losing jobs and contracts
• Connect through the Latina Work Group, Rewriting the Narrative, and a sisterhood celebration dinner
Join us in person in Washington, DC or online.
In partnership with: Bread for the World, World Council of Churches, African Union, All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC-CETA)
Registration is $25. Scholarships are available, so cost should never keep anyone from joining us. To request a scholarship, use "Contact the organizer" on this page.
