Join us Thursday, September 17 at 55 Seventy for an elevated evening of Mahjong, great food, wonderful company, and meaningful connection.
Whether you're building confidence in your game or ready to jump straight into Open Play, Pause!! Let’s Mahj is your midweek invitation to slow down, gather around the table, and enjoy one of Dallas’ most beautiful private club settings.
Come with friends or come solo—you’ll find a welcoming Mahjong community ready to play, laugh, connect, and maybe even celebrate a few winning hands.

For experienced players who are comfortable playing independently.
Join fellow Mahjong enthusiasts for an evening of friendly competition, conversation, and community. Come sharpen your skills, meet new players, and enjoy one of Dallas' favorite Mahjong nights.
Prerequisite: Players should be comfortable playing without instructor assistance and familiar with the rules of American Mahjong. MUST BRING YOUR OWN NMJL PLAYING CARD. ONE WILL NOT BE PROVIDED FOR YOU.

Never played Mahjong before? This is where you start!
Our Learn to Play class is designed specifically for beginners—no prior Mahjong experience is needed. Whether you’ve never touched a tile or have watched friends play and wondered what all the excitement is about, we’ll teach you everything you need to know to get started.
During this fun, interactive lesson, you’ll learn:
- The Mahjong tiles, suits, winds, dragons, and flowers
- How to set up the table and build the walls
- The basic rules and flow of American Mahjong
- How to read and understand the NMJL card
- How to choose a hand and begin building toward Mahjong
- The Charleston and how tiles are passed
- Jokers, exposures, calling tiles, and basic game etiquette
- How to play through a game from beginning to end
We’ll take it step by step, with plenty of time for questions and hands-on practice along the way.
By the end of the lesson, you’ll understand the fundamentals of American Mahjong and be ready to keep playing, practicing, and building your confidence.
No experience necessary—just come ready to learn, laugh, and Mahj! 🀄️✨
