Step inside a historic circa-1869 stagecoach inn and tavern on the Annapolis Royal waterfront for an unforgettable evening of history, mystery, and paranormal exploration.Join Paranormal Phenomena Research & Investigation (PPRI), Nova Scotia’s oldest registered paranormal society, for an exclusive after-hours investigation of the historic O’Dell House Museum in beautiful Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia.
Built around 1869, the O’Dell House has witnessed more than 150 years of local history. Originally operating as a stagecoach inn and tavern, the Victorian-era building later became the home of Nova Scotia Pony Express rider Corey O’Dell and his family, followed by his son Griffin O’Dell and family. The property remained in the O’Dell family until the 1950s.
Today, stepping through the doors of O’Dell House offers a remarkable glimpse into another era. Its historic parlour, dining room, kitchen, office, and upper floors preserve the atmosphere and stories of generations who lived, worked, travelled, and gathered within its walls.
For one evening, you’ll have the opportunity to experience this historic property in an entirely different way after dark and as a paranormal investigator.
What to Expect
This intimate, three-hour experience begins with an educational introduction to paranormal investigation and an initial walkthrough of the property with PPRI Vice-Present Jodi Russell..
Participants will then be introduced to the investigative methods and specialized equipment used by PPRI before taking part in a hands-on paranormal investigation throughout the historic building.
During the investigation, participants will have the opportunity to:
Learn about the methods used in modern paranormal field investigations
Explore O’Dell House after regular museum hours
Use specialized paranormal investigative equipment
Collect and observe environmental data
Participate in electronic voice phenomena (EVP) sessions
Experiment with various approaches to spirit communication
Investigate alongside experienced PPRI investigators
Rather than simply attending a ghost tour, you become part of the investigation.
With more than a century and a half of history contained within a former inn, tavern, and family home, O’Dell House provides a fascinating setting to explore questions surrounding hauntings, anomalous experiences, and the possibility that traces of the past may sometimes linger in unexpected ways.
Whether you’re a believer, a skeptic, a history enthusiast, or simply curious about the unexplained, this unique evening offers a rare opportunity to experience one of Annapolis Royal’s historic treasures after dark.
Attendance is strictly limited to 12 guests per evening, allowing participants to enjoy a smaller, more immersive investigative experience.
Proceeds from this event will support the O’Dell House Museum and Paranormal Phenomena Research & Investigation (PPRI), a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to the scientific study and investigation of reported paranormal phenomena.
