Worried about your next career step? Experiencing imposter syndrome? Feeling isolated or lacking support? Join us for an open conversation about PhD candidates' mental health in academia—and how we can better support early career researchers.About the discussion
Doctoral studies and temporary research positions can bring feelings of loneliness, uncertainty about the future, and challenges around belonging and inclusion. Research careers are also often seen as a privilege, which can make it harder to speak openly about mental health and seek support.
To mark World Mental Health Day, UiODoc invite PhD candidates, supervisors, department leaders and university administrators to discuss how academic culture and working conditions shape PhD candidates' well-being. With perspectives from across the university, the panel will explore what needs to change and who can help make it happen.
There will be time for questions from the audience, followed by dinner and informal conversation
