A borrowed motif, a found object, a sound that gets passed around the trio and comes back changed: Red Color Trio turn the idea of recycling into music. In “Recycling Pieces”, the three players exchange material according to their own rules. They prepare and extend their instruments, finding new colours in clarinet, piano and bass alongside electronics.
The games are serious about listening but playful in the doing. One musician offers a fragment; another takes it apart or finds a different use for it. Benedito leads Berlin’s Sound Painting Orchestra, while Steyer and Rößler are deeply involved in the city’s improvised and experimental scenes. Together they make room for accident, invention and the strange pleasure of hearing something familiar become new again.

Ein geliehenes Motiv, ein gefundenes Objekt, ein Klang, der im Trio weitergegeben wird und verändert zurückkehrt: Das Red Color Trio macht die Idee des Recyclings zu Musik. In „Recycling Pieces“ tauschen die drei Spielerinnen Material nach eigenen Regeln aus. Sie präparieren und erweitern ihre Instrumente und finden neue Klangfarben zwischen Klarinette, Klavier, Bass und Elektronik.
Bei diesen Spielen wird genau hingehört, und trotzdem bleibt Raum für Spaß. Eine Musikerin bietet ein Fragment an, die nächste zerlegt es oder findet eine andere Verwendung dafür. Benedito leitet das Berliner Sound Painting Orchestra; Steyer und Rößler sind fest in der improvisierten und experimentellen Szene der Stadt verankert. Zusammen lassen sie Zufall und Erfindung zu und zeigen, wie gut etwas Vertrautes klingen kann, wenn es neu zusammengesetzt wird.
