About this Event
Discover the art of portrait painting (your own loved one) with Adelaide artist Tim Christinat in a relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop designed to build confidence, creativity, and practical skills.
Over three inspiring hours, you’ll learn the fundamentals of portrait painting using a simple and effective grid method, making it easy to capture facial proportions, expression, light, and shadow, even if you’ve never painted before. Working in black and white acrylics, you’ll focus on form and technique without the added complexity of colour mixing.
You will be painting your loved one, whether it is a grandparent, family member or friend. Please send a photo reference of your choice, preferably an image that has some good contrast and nice shadows. Please email your reference to [email protected] so it can be prepared accordingly beforehand or send through any questions you may have.
This welcoming, social workshop is perfect for curious beginners, emerging creatives, and anyone keen to try something new in a supportive and relaxed group environment.
