Scandinavian Christmas at Ngutungka
Day 2 of our Christmas Around the World Advent Calendar
Join us at Ngutungka Henley for a little Scandinavian Christmas magic! Discover festive traditions, get creative and enjoy a couple of lovely free activities.
Free Woven Christmas Hearts | 2.30pm–4.30pm
Add a little Scandinavian charm to your Christmas celebrations by creating your own traditional Julehjerte (woven Christmas heart)!
Woven paper hearts are a much-loved Christmas tradition in Denmark, where they’re used to decorate Christmas trees and homes during the festive season.
Join us for a relaxed, free festive craft session and discover the joy of weaving colourful paper into your very own heart-shaped decoration. Hang it on your Christmas tree, use it to decorate your home or give it as a handmade gift to someone special.
All materials are supplied, and no experience is necessary.
Blind Date with a Book – Christmas Book Flood | Available all day while stocks last
Fancy a little literary surprise? Inspired by Iceland's Jólabókaflóð (Christmas Book Flood) tradition, choose a mystery book wrapped up and waiting to be discovered. You won't know the title until you unwrap it!
Find your next great read, give a pre-loved book a new home and enjoy the magic of a literary surprise.
Best of all, the books are free to take home!
Can You Find the Cheeky Nisse?
Our mischievous Scandinavian Christmas gnomes have sneaked into Ngutungka Henley and are hiding throughout the building!
The hunt launches on Wednesday 2 December and runs all month long. Keep your eyes peeled, find the hidden Nisse, uncover the secret letters and enter the prize draw!
Perfect for curious little explorers aged 4–12. Can you find them all?
Come along, explore Scandinavian Christmas traditions and enjoy some festive fun with your community.
Part of our 12-day Christmas Around the World Advent Calendar, celebrating Christmas traditions, creativity and community from around the globe.
