Paddler’s Guide to Safety is a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary course designed for anyone who enjoys kayaking, canoeing, or paddleboarding. Learn essential safety practices, required equipment, navigation basics, and how to prepare for changing weather and water conditions. Whether you’re new to paddling or an experienced boater, this class will help you make every trip safer and more enjoyable.
- Jackson Park Yacht Club: Paddlers Guide to Safety
- Registration is open to adults and youth ages 13 and older. Families are welcome — younger children may attend when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Course is free, but must register.
- Parking: Free parking is available on Promontory Drive.

- Saturday, March 21 from 12pm to 3pm,
- Saturday, May 09 from 12pm to 3pm or
- Thursday, July 09 from 6pm to 9pm.
