About this Event
Climbing outdoors on ropes can be a difficult activity to start, due to the knowledge, kit, and need for a climbing partner! With these introductory sessions, we hope to remove those barriers, providing full kit and instruction from our wonderful outdoor guide, Aidan.
We will meet at Ganavan Sands Car Park for a short walk over to Ganavan Crags to get climbing. This is a great crag for introductory sessions, and even better at how local to Oban it is. Over the course of the session you'll be shown the basics and given the opportunity to do some climbing and abseiling, learning about knots, technique and how to use climbing kit.
All kit will be provided for climbing except clothing, footwear and waterproofs. Please bring appropriate clothing for the weather and any climbing shoes/trainers/walking shoes you have.
Spaces are available by donation, as we would like to reduce as many barriers as we can to enable entry to outdoor actitivies. If you are able, the suggested donation to cover the full cost of a space on this course is £15, however, please pay as much or as little as you can do so.
