About this Event
Our Side of the Story is a youth media and storytelling experience hosted by the Legler Youth Action Table that invites young people to document the parts of their community they love most, imagine how those strengths could be amplified, and share what they would like to see changed.
Through interviews, photography, video, writing, art, poetry, music, creative expression, and interactive activities, young people will have different ways to tell their side of the story and reflect on what their community means to them.
The event will center one main question:
What’s your favorite part of your community? How could we amplify that part of the community?
What would you change?
This is more than a conversation. Young people will be able to connect, create, share their perspectives, engage with community resources, and contribute ideas that can help shape future programming and action at Legler.
The experience will include food, music, youth performances, storytelling activities, community question boards, resource tables, and opportunities for creative expression.
Our goal is to create a space where youth are not simply invited to participate, but are trusted to speak, create, document, and help shape what comes next.
