Welcome to Port Veritas! We meet every Tuesday night in person at Double House Arts Collective 122 Spring St #1 in Portland AND online. We typically end by 8:30 pm EST, but we have the space until 9 pm EST.In person friends, please remain masked in the building. If you are reading, you may take off your mask only while reading.
Double House Arts has an accessible ramp at the back entrance, and four low steps with railings at the front entrance on Spring Street. Please contact PV organizers in advance if you need the the ramp entrance.

Our feature this week is Jaya S. Basu coming to us online!
Jaya S. Basu is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Washington D. C. Their writing has appeared in The Trans Mag, Anodyne Magazine, orangepeel, Collision, and Applause. Their play MAHAMOHA was the recipient of several awards at the American College Theatre Festival, and was featured as a staged reading at the inaugural T4T4T Festival in Baltimore. They were the 2026 recipient of the Sophie Kerr prize, the largest undergraduate literary prize in the nation, and were a BIPOC Fellow with Trans Poetics Archive in the 2026 cohort and are a part of the 2026 cohort for the Playwright's Unit at the People's Theater in New York. They were the poetry editor of Collegian from 2024-2026.
