このたび、表千家同門会東部支部ボストン特別地区の発足を記念し、茶会を開催いたします。
今後、昭和ボストンの茶室を活動の拠点として、表千家に受け継がれてきた茶の湯の心と文化を、ボストンの地に広く伝えてまいります。
学術と文化が豊かに交わるこの街で、茶の湯を通じて人と人、心と心を結び、若い世代や地域の皆さまとともに、その心を未来へつないでいく——。
この茶会は、その新たな歩みの第一歩です。
一服のお茶を囲み、茶の湯の心に触れるひとときを、皆さまとご一緒できることを心より楽しみにしております。
We are pleased to announce a tea gathering celebrating the establishment of the Omotesenke Domonkai Eastern Region – Boston Special District.
With the tea room at Showa Boston as our base, we will share the spirit and traditions of Omotesenke tea with the Boston community and future generations.
In a city where scholarship and culture flourish, we hope to connect people and hearts through tea, and to carry its spirit into the future together with younger generations and the wider community.
This gathering marks the beginning of this new journey.
We look forward to sharing a moment of quiet connection over a bowl of tea, and to beginning this new chapter of Omotesenke tea in Boston together.
For all tickets, pleasae note:
- Once purchased, tea ceremony tickets are strictly non-refundable.
- These tickets are made available for public outreach purposes, the mission of our organization.
Allergy information:
Food Ingredients
- Bowls of tea: Matcha tea powder.
- Sweets served: white bean paste, sugar, sticky rice flour, food color.
- The above sweets are made in facilities that are not strictly allergy-safe.
Dress code:
- Please take off jewelry and watches. Those can often damage valuable utensils.
- Most Omotesenke members will wear kimono, but Western-style attire (business casual) is also acceptable.
- No sleeveless shirts, short mini skirts and jeans
Photos:
- We will take pictures of the tea ceremony during the event. Please note that the photos taken may be used for SNS at a later date.

Important Notice About Personal Belongings:
We kindly remind all attendees that the Omotesenke School will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any personal items brought to the tea ceremony event. Each attendee is solely responsible for the safety and security of their own belongings. We advise you to keep your personal items with you at all times and to exercise due care and attention during your visit.

Your generous donation will help support the continuation of this cultural tradition, as Omotesenke Domonkai, a nonprofit organization, works to bring authentic Japanese tea ceremonies from Japan to the US. Contributions will be used in alignment with the Eastern Region’s 501(c)(3) mission, supporting public events that promote the appreciation and practice of Japanese tea ceremony. Experience the elegance of Japanese craftsmanship with this exclusive incense box, designed by the renowned Sotetsu Nakamura, one of the ten designated artisans (千家十職） of the Senke family, exclusively serving the Omotesenke tradition, and meticulously crafted at the esteemed Tetsu Kobo workshop. The box measures approximately 5 cm (about 2 inches) on each side, making it an exquisite piece. The lid showcases a breathtaking cherry blossom lacquer design, complemented by a refined suri lacquer finish. Adding to its value, the back of the lid bears the signature mark（Printed) of Yuyusai, Grand Master of Omotesenke.
