Oil Pastel Painting Class: The Scream by Edvard Munch
In this class, you'll explore the expressive and dramatic world of oil pastels, creating your own interpretation of one of the most iconic paintings in art history: The Scream by Edvard Munch.
You'll begin by learning the fundamentals of working with oil pastels - from layering and blending colours to creating bold textures, movement and atmosphere. We'll take inspiration from Munch's powerful use of colour, swirling skies and expressive mark-making to create a vibrant, emotionally charged artwork.
Oil pastels are wonderfully forgiving and full of possibility - perfect for both beginners and experienced artists. The process is intuitive, relaxing and highly satisfying, allowing you to build rich layers of colour and create striking effects with ease.
By the end of the class, you'll take home your own expressive and full of volour oil pastel painting inspired by The Scream.
All materials will be provided. Please bring your own apron or wear clothes you don't mind getting a little dusty!
