The Carolwood Foundation has scheduled an open day for the public at Walt Disney’s Barn on Sunday, October 18 from 11am to 3pm. We will be celebrating 25 years of the Walt Disney Hometown Museum. Joining us from Marceline will be Kaye Malins, the director of the museum. Guests will have an opportunity to sign their names to commemorate the occasion, and themselves become a part of the museum.UPDATE: The Foundation is pleased to also welcome former Imagineering President and author Bob Weiss who will be signing his books Ghost Dog and Dream Chasing. Limited copies will be available for sale in the gift shop. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own copies to be signed.
During your visit you are invited to tour Walt Disney's Carolwood Barn, Walt’s original home workshop and the birthplace of Imagineering. Displays include treasures from the backyard railroads of Walt Disney, Ward Kimball and Ollie Johnston, as well as an operating model of Disneyland's classic Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland attraction.
In addition, Ollie Johnston's backyard depot and the SFDRR Combine Car will be on display.
