Join us for a hands-on session focused on cleaning and preparing native prairie seed for future planting. We’ll work with seed collected during our Community Seed Collection event and learn simple methods for separating seed from chaff and other plant material. We’ll also discuss what happens after collection, including proper seed storage and the different treatments some native species may need before they are ready to germinate. Topics will include cold stratification, scarification, and other basic considerations for successfully starting native plants from seed.
All materials will be provided, and you do not need to have attended the Seed Collection class to participate.
Registration required. Class size limited to 30; waitlist available.
