Dr. Orcutt has been vice president for research since 2022 and a senior research scientist since 2012. She is an award-winning, internationally recognized expert on deep-sea microbiology, regularly called upon by the government to advise on deep-sea matters. She uses her expertise in research administration, technology transfer, and partnership building to accelerate the laboratory’s discoveries and solutions.
