Northeast Oklahoma — Our farms, livestock operations, and property values are on the line. 📢🌾The Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) is holding a formal Public Comment Hearing regarding American Electric Power’s (AEP) proposed NEOTEP West transmission line project (Case No. PUD 2026-000047). If approved, this 345-kV line will cut right through Washington and Nowata counties, placing massive steel towers across private land.
While state regulators accept online filings, packing the room in person delivers the most powerful message possible to the commissioners. We need a massive community turnout to stand unified and say "NO" to this project.
🛑 Important Hearing Rules:
• Speaking Time: Oral comments are strictly limited to 5 minutes per person.
• You don't have to speak to make a difference: Just occupying a seat fills the room and shows our collective opposition. Friends, family, and affected neighbors from all over the state are urged to join.
🚌 Charter Bus & Coordination:
Don't want to make the drive to OKC alone? Protect Rural Oklahoma has organized a community charter bus so neighbors can ride and stand together. Plan for a full-day trip.
To reserve your seat on the bus or read up on more details, visit protectruralok.com.
