Svebbe invites London mainstay Fold to Oslo for the third edition of his party series Novelty Waves, showcasing some of the best dance music emerging from the UK hardcore continuum.
Fold (UK)
Forged in the crucible of London’s late-90s pirate radio and sound-system culture, Fold (Rob Glassett) is a master of precision-engineered, heavyweight underground rhythm. Rooted in a lifelong crate-digging mentality, his technical dexterity effortlessly bridges the gaps between broken beat, house, techno, garage, and jungle with an unmistakable UK edge. Whether he is anchoring dancefloors at seminal institutions like Panorama Bar, Fabric, Open Ground and Glastonbury festival - or taking his sound global with recent tours across Asia, India, and Australia—Fold remains a tireless champion of the underground spanning 20 years in the business. A central figure in contemporary club culture in London, he steers the forward-leaning Well Street Records imprint, commands the airwaves as a Rinse FM mainstay (following his 10 year + tenure on NTS Radio) and continues to push boundaries through his own FLDIN2 label, alongside a slew of high-profile releases on heavy hitting imprints such as Aus Music and Shall Not Fade. Fold’s sharp, uncompromising output firmly defines the cutting edge of modern electronic music.
Svebbe:
Svebbe is the moniker of Viljar Sæbbe, who has quickly made a name for himself as a tastemaker in the international club scene. As one of the most followed club music curators on Bandcamp, his recommendations are frequently picked up by leading DJs worldwide. He’s also established himself as a skilled DJ, performing at major Norwegian festivals and clubs. His guest mix for London’s Rinse FM was selected as Mix of the Day by Resident Advisor, and he has since appeared on NTS Radio for the renowned Mexican label NAAFI.
In his DJ sets, he effortlessly moves between timeless elements of house and techno to global styles like kuduro and afrobeats, yet with a clear emphasis on UK bass music in the form of genres like grime, dubstep, funky, and garage.
Morstaq:
Morstaq is a multimedia sound artist, DJ and producer working at the intersection of club culture and sonic research known for her electric energy and blurring sets. A key figure in the underground scene. Setting the stage with her signature blend of hard-hitting beats & hypnotic melodies. Central to her practice is a "we listen, we don't judge" ethos: sound as a space where hierarchy dissolves, synchronization emerges, and listening itself becomes material.
Jimbo Slice
Oslo-based DJ Jimbo Slice moves between mellow grooves and upbeat rhythms, often held together by driving basslines and percussive energy. His sets explore the space between weight and warmth, moving through deep rhythms, darker grooves and moments of release. Expect breaks, bass, dub techno and a blend of club sounds.
