What can identity mean in 2024? This one-night poem installation and performance imagines a loose and even tangential dialogue with Martin Scorsese's '74 film, Italianamerican. Perhaps it asks a few of the same questions, and also, probably, a few of its own. Experiential, and fairly brief—running time is 30 mins including Q & A—this might be a nice shot in the arm to start off a Saturday evening. So please, if you will, come and see what happens when immigrants accede to aristocracy. Or if not, then, just, "Fuhh-gett about it!"

About the artists:

Chris DeMento (actor/creator) is an artist who works across poetic, fictive, musical, and visual media. He can be found hosting open mics in and around Philly, or on the internet by the name vidpoet . . . interested in the way different streams of thought, input, information interact when placed in motion simultaneously.

Kirk Lohbauer (actor) is a mildly Italian local who grew up stopping to get cannolis on the way to his grandparents', but didn’t learn how to pronounce sfogliatelle until he watched the Sopranos. Kirk’s day job involves market research, and in his spare time, he's a creatively curious guy who likes funk, R & B, karaoke, and whistling more than most other people.
