In anticipation of Leif Erikson Day, join us on Thursday, October 8, from 5-8 PM for a celebration of Norwegian history and culture! Norwegian immigrants have played an important role in New Bedford's commercial fishing industry, and several prominent fishing families, vessel owners, and shoreside businesses on the South Coast can trace their roots to Scandinavian coastal communities. Thursday's free program will feature traditional Norwegian costumes, art demonstrations, and family-friendly craft activities. As always, the Center will be open from free during AHA! Night. Be sure to visit AHA's website to discover more free activities happening in downtown New Bedford.
