We celebrated and thanked our community supporters during our recent 15th Anniversary event held at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre and at which time we were able to present $1,600 to Cdn Mental Health for their 'Foundry'. If you have time to get involved and help keep our organization going for another 15 years, please check us out. Hear about the results from our Local Artists' and others 'Art From The Optimist Attic' fundraiser at the 5th Annual Yacht Club Ladies Night, learn the type of donations of re gift items needed for the Dec 5 Children's Christmas Gift House at People Place (drop off locations for donations are located at Vernon Curling Club, Ladies World, Vernon Morning Star and the People Place) and also hear how to nominate an extraordinary student for the 'Junior Good Citizen' Award. AND if you want to have some winter fun with local students, consider volunteering during the Vernon Winter Carnival at Jam Can Curling. Oh, and did we mention the upcoming Regional Heritage Fair in April which is a great way for students in Grades 4 to 6 to showcase their creativity about all things Canadian? Join us on Monday, Nov 23 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm for the business meeting, sharing of info about our projects and meeting fellow Optimists. New members are always welcomed to help NOOC 'bring out the best in youth, our community and ourselves'!
