This seminar will challenge choir members, musicians, praise team members, worship leaders, pastors, audio/media teams, and other worship ministry servants to move beyond simply creating a great worship experience toward helping people encounter the presence of the living God.
Our presenters, Dr. Herbert V.R.P. Jones and Rev. Edward Hinds, bring decades of experience in worship, choral music, ministry leadership, education, and congregational life. Rev. Hinds has served for more than 25 years as a worship leader, choir director, vocal coach, and mentor, while Dr. Jones is a nationally experienced choral conductor, educator, minister of music, and scholar in theology and musical expression.
Throughout the day, participants will explore what it means to cultivate a worship ministry where Presence comes before Performance, Character before Giftedness, Ministry before Music, Servanthood before Spotlight, Excellence exists without Pride, and Unity exists without Uniformity.
The seminar will include teaching and practical discussion on the heart of worship, avoiding a performance-driven ministry culture, humility and servanthood, connecting worship across generations, the theological role of the choir, vocal and rehearsal techniques, musicianship, worship flow, and the relationship between choir, musicians, clergy, and media ministries.
The day will also include dedicated worship and choir sessions, lunch, a closing call to action, and rehearsal.
