Join us for a very special festive networking event, hosted by NLCCE Member, Workspace, which provides flexible offices and studios to 4,000 businesses across London. This event will be held at their Wood Green premises, the Chocolate Factory.
As well as our usual networking and guest talk, you'll also get the chance to tour the former sweet factory, view the offices/studios and visit the roof-terrace! The Chocolate Factory was once home to Barratt's, where Sherbet Fountains and Dip Dabs came off the production line for generations of sweet-toothed Londoners. The machines have long gone, but the building has kept its high ceilings and huge windows, and some of the original factory stonework.
Come along and meet some of the businesses located in the Chocolate Factory - an eclectic mix of makers, agencies, startups and independents, as varied as a pick 'n' mix counter!
Guest Talk: Work Like a Comedian!
We'll also hear from NLCCE Member, Speaker Coach and award-winning Comedian, Mel Byron, who will share her tips for applying parts of the comedian's craft to working life. Mel explains:
"A comedy set lasts no more than 20 minutes but takes many hours to perfect. Find out how applying parts of the comedian's craft help us in our own work. In this fun, informative, and sometimes surprising session, discover the importance of Creativity, Confidence and Conscience (that’s how we make other people feel, a huge part of workplace happiness). And of course, we'll talk about humour and very probably have some laughs!"
About Mel Byron:
Mel Byron spent over 20 years in the publishing industry before transferring her skills and her passion. She is now a comedian, writer and speaking coach - enabling individuals and teams to become confident public speakers who get results. Mel’s first solo comedy show, Karoshi, was a plea for a kinder, more people-centred workplace culture, and toured to several UK Festivals, including the Edinburgh Fringe.
