About this Event
On Saturday, November 21st, we'll be celebrating a Nightmare Before Christmas with seven local horror authors. Come to the bookstore for a night of fear and fun!
Our featured authors are Christina Bergling, Marissa Yarrow, Catlyn Ladd, Elizabeth Devecchi, Cassondra Windwalker, and Jon Gensler, and Rachel Dempsey.
Christina Bergling is a horror and speculative fiction author with stories exploring survival, trauma, and the darker side of human nature.
Marissa Yarrow is a horror author based in Colorado Springs, where she lives with her spouse and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, biking, rock climbing, and backpacking.
Catlyn Ladd loves alliteration, the poetic slip of similar sounds through throat and tongue. She writes narrative nonfiction, speculative dark fiction, and horror.
Elizabeth Devecchi writes in a variety of genres and styles, but horror holds a special place in her heart. She officially began her career as an author in her in her early 50s with a short story titled “The Hunt,” which can still be found floating around the internet as part of the December 2021 issue of international literary journal, Ariel Chart.
Cassondra Windwalker earned a BA of Letters at the University of Oklahoma. She parlayed that highly marketable degree into degrees in bookselling and law enforcement before pursuing her writing career full time.
Jonathan Gensler is a recovering combat veteran and former entrepreneur. He writes dark, speculative fiction, and lives in the mountains with his wife and three children.
Rachel Horak Dempsey is a writer and editor of all things dark. Her debut novella, PN0K0, a sci-fi/horror retelling of Pinocchio, released from M4L Publishing on June 9, 2026.
