On Saturday 24th October 2026 the UnDead will rise for Wigans first Zombie Run at Haigh Woodland Park.As the sun sets runners will brave the 5km route starting outside the historic Haigh Hall before turning onto the spooky atmospheric woodland trails in 2.5lap course. But beware of what lurks in the dark.
Runners will be given a waist belt with detachable lifelines, dodge the UnDead who lurk in the zombie zones and cross the finish line with at least one lifeline to survive the zombie apocalypse. Lose your lifelines and your infected, doomed to roam with the Undead forever more.
All runners receive an exclusive glow in the dark medal.
Not a runner/walker but still want to join in the fun?
Why not join the UnDead Zombie horde from the start and be the undead heartbeat of the event. Bring your best zombie groan, get dressed up and get zombified. Stalk the runners within the zombie zones to take their lifelines and grow the horde for the future zombie take over.
If this still sounds too energetic, why not volunteer and become the essential backbone of a smooth and safe event that all participants will remember. A number of marshal roles are available.
