NEXT MOVE returns, supporting independent artists as they develop bold ideas and push the boundaries of contemporary dance.
Chunky Move’s flagship platform for independent choreographers returns in 2026 with NEXT MOVE, an exciting double bill of new works by Harrison Ritchie-Jones and Samakshi Sidhu.
Bringing two distinct choreographic worlds into the studio, Ritchie-Jones and Sidhu explore physical virtuosity, surreal storytelling and the body in relation to ecological systems.
NEXT MOVE roars back to life from Wednesday 11 – Saturday 14 November at the Chunky Move Studios, Southbank VIC.

Getting to Chunky Move
We’re located at 111 Sturt Street, Southbank, in the heart of the Melbourne Arts Precinct. Enter from Sturt Street or through the undercroft via Grant Street. There’s a tram stop nearby, and plenty of car parks and bike racks. It’s also a nice walk from Flinders Street train station. You can learn more about getting to Chunky Move here.

Wheelchair Access
This performance is wheelchair accessible, with designated wheelchair spaces provided. Please indicate if you require a wheelchair seat by answering the question 'Do you or anyone attending NEXT MOVE with you have access requirements you would like to tell us about?' when purchasing your ticket.
Accessible Bathrooms
Toilets are located on the first floor of the Chunky Move building. Accessible and all-gender bathrooms are available.
Companion Cards
Free Companion Card tickets can be booked by selecting a Companion Card Ticket when booking. We accept companion cards registered in Victoria and interstate.
