On Thursday 31 December 2026, Smith's Bar & Grill hosts New Year's Eve above the canal at Paddington Central. Sit down to a canapé and fizz reception and a five-course dinner, with The Blue Loop Duo playing until midnight and a magician working the room. The early seating runs from 6.30pm to 9pm (£120, or £160 with bottomless drinks, early bird £100 and £130 until 30 November) and guests then move through to the party. The late seating runs from 9.30pm to 3am (£170, £200 with bottomless drinks until 12.30am, or £250 with bottomless drinks until 3am) and takes you through the countdown and on to the DJ. If you would rather skip dinner, the party area opens at 9pm: entry is £40 with a drink, or a table for 4 to 6 is £250 with a bottle of spirits and soft drinks, chosen when you book. Dress code is party-ready. Step-free access.
The menu (five courses, both seatings)
- Amuse-bouche: tuna taquitos, soy dressing with onion, ginger, coriander and sesame seeds
- Starters (choose one): burrata (V); parmigiana (V); scallops with Jerusalem artichoke purée and veal jus; beef carpaccio with Dijon mayo
- Middle course: beef croquettes, beef short rib with jalapeño sauce
- Mains (choose one): roasted cod with clam chowder and rainbow chard; rib-eye steak with gratin potatoes and red wine jus; wild mushroom risotto (V); lamb cutlets with celeriac purée, spinach and red wine jus
- Desserts (choose one): chocolate fondant; rum baba; vanilla Basque cheesecake; tiramisù

Entertainment
The Blue Loop Duo (guitar and vocals, looping and harmonies, soul, rock and pop) plays until midnight at both dinner seatings. A magician works the room until midnight, an MC hosts dinner and the DJ plays until 3am. Dress code: party-ready. Think sleek, stylish and NYE-worthy.
Good to know
- Bottomless drinks are white wine, red wine, sparkling wine and half pints of draught beer, for the hours the package covers.
- The party area is separate from the dinner seatings in the restaurant. Party entry and party tables come without dinner. Dinner guests join the party area after their meal.
- Party area tables include one bottle of Bombay gin, Bacardi rum, Jack Daniel's whiskey, Grey Goose vodka or Jose Cuervo tequila, with soft drinks. Please tell us your choice when you book.
