This training is for Liverpool Settings.
This training covers the key areas of safeguarding, helping you understand the responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) role within an Early Years setting as laid out in Annex C of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.
During the session, you will explore:
- Recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns
- Making referrals and sharing information appropriately
- Maintaining accurate records
- Understanding current safeguarding guidance
You will also consider the vital role of the DSL in promoting a strong safeguarding culture and supporting positive outcomes for children.
This friendly and interactive training includes practical examples, opportunities for discussion, and time to ask questions, helping you feel confident in carrying out your safeguarding responsibilities. It also includes local context relevant to Liverpool Early Years services, enabling you to understand local safeguarding procedures, referral pathways, and effective multi-agency working
Suitable for Early Years practitioners who are new to the DSL role or preparing to take on DSL responsibilities.
Please note: To attend this training, you must have previously completed Basic Safeguarding Awareness Training. If you have not yet attended Basic Safeguarding Awareness Training, please do so before booking a place on this course.
