In November 2026 New Europe Book Club will attend an in-person conversation with Ukrainian poet and soldier Yaryna Chornohuz. Join WorldOregon and the Portland-Lviv Sister City Association for a very special event with Ukrainian poet and soldier Yaryna Chornohuz about the meeting of the ordinary and the extraordinary in wartime. Chornohuz stands as one of Ukraine’s most celebrated modern poets and one of its fiercest activists and advocates. Poems poignantly bearing witness to the human losses that come with war, her work is also steeped in the everyday, poems about her daughter, verses about friends and fellow soldiers, poems about all that is worth fighting for.
Yaryna Chornohuz’s U.S. tour is made possible through the support of Razom for Ukraine.
