About this Event
Neurodivergent Lived Experience Workshop: Influencing Lewisham's Suicide Prevention Strategy
Are you neurodivergent? Have you been affected by suicide?
You can help shape Lewisham Council’s approach to preventing suicide and make a difference in our community.
By sharing your views and ideas, you can help Lewisham Council develop and improve their approach to suicide prevention.
We would like to hear what could improve support for people affected by suicide. This includes people who have experienced suicidal thoughts or survived a suicide attempt, as well as those who have been bereaved by suicide. You are welcome to share only what feels comfortable for you.
Why Participate?
- Share your views in a safe, supportive environment, with faciliation by peers with lived experience of the impacts of suicide.
- Receive compensation (a voucher and refreshments) as a thank you for your time.
- Help shape Lewisham’s approach to preventing suicide and improve support for people affected by suicide.
There are three lived experience workshops as part of this project, for: people aged 65+; neurodivergent people; and open to all. This session is specifically for neurodivergent people.
How do you know if this group is for you?
- You are 18+ and live, study or work in Lewisham and have been affected by suicide.
- You feel safe and able to talk about your own experiences, and you’re comfortable seeking support or taking a break if needed during the session
- You feel safe listening to other peoples’ experiences, which may be similar to, or different from your own.
- You are neurodivergent. Neurodivergence includes autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette’s and other differences in how you think, communicate, process information or experience the world. You do not need to have a formal diagnosis to attend this workshop.
