About this Event
Public health expert and consultant Vivian Lin is sought after world wide to deal with wicked health policy problems. One of them is how to lift 1.6b people out of poverty driven by health costs. So we're delighted to have Vivian with us this month to discuss the new report of the Lancet Commission she co-Chaired.
Just launched, the Commission's report looks at the impact health care costs can have. Catastrophic for many individuals, they can also be a major drain on business and whole economies. It's one of the key reasons Australia's Medicare is so strongly supported.
Taking China's attempts to deal with the links between health care and poverty as a case study the report has far-reaching implications for all countries. Just one surprise includes recommendations for housing renovations!
Vivian is also a frequent visitor to the US so expect some thoughts on the mid-terms and the future of US-China relations too!
