About this Event
Join us for a relaxed and flavour-packed three-hour Nepalese cookery workshop on a Saturday afternoon.
Nepalese cooking is known for its comforting, homely feel and beautifully balanced flavours. Drawing on influences from the Himalayas and neighbouring regions, the cuisine blends fragrant spices, seasonal vegetables, lentils, rice, and simple breads to create nourishing and deeply satisfying meals. From hearty stews to fresh, vibrant sides, Nepalese food celebrates both simplicity and richness.
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll cook together to prepare a generous Nepalese meal using accessible ingredients and traditional techniques that you can easily recreate at home. You’ll learn essential skills such as tempering spices, building layers of flavour, preparing rice dishes, working with lentils and meats, and creating fresh, punchy accompaniments that bring everything together.
Example Menu
Mutter Pulao – fragrant rice cooked with green peas and warming spices
Roti – soft, homemade flatbreads
Aloo Ko Achar – spiced potato salad with a tangy, chilli kick
Kukhura Chhoyela – a bold and flavourful spiced chicken dish
Quawati – a traditional mixed bean stew, rich and nourishing
The menu may vary slightly depending on ingredient availability and the dietary requirements of the group.
