Instructor: Sarah SummersSkill Level: Beginner to Intermediate – Wire Armature Used
Cardinals primarily symbolize hope, devotion, spiritual messengers and departed loved ones. Because they do not migrate, their bright red plumage provides a stark contrast against winter snow. They are an enduring symbols of resilience and the warmth of life during cold difficult times.
Find the joy in creating this beloved feathered friend through a step by step process taught by local fiber artist and Instructor, Sarah Summers of Summers’ Serendipity. The cardinal begins by shaping a 2 wire armature and building upon the armature with wool. You may choose to create a simpler version sitting in a nest or the more challenging standing cardinal, by adding a 4 wire armature for legs and feet.
A materials kit including needles, scissors, awl, finger protectors, felting pad, and wool will be provided by the instructor. All wool and supplies come in a handy carry tote.
Please note *** A materials fee of $35 per student is due to the instructor at the start of the class.
If you have a kit from Summers’ Serendipity from a previous workshop, bring it with you and pay a materials fee of $10.00 for the wool.
