We invite you for a solidarity evening on 13th of October at Folketshus with short films from and about Palestine.The Nazra Palestine Short Film Festival is a decentralised festival that collects short films from and about Palestine. It was born in 2017 in Italy through the collaboration of different organisations, volunteers, citizens in solidarity and cinematography enthusiasts. Over the years it has spread further across territories, weaving a network of solidarity promoting the voices and perspectives of contemporary Palestinian filmmakers.
From the film festival's website (translated from Italian):
> Nazra in Arabic means “gaze”, the eye is its logo and cinema is its medium. The purpose of the Festival is precisely to broaden the gaze of those who know the Palestinian question and those who want to approach it for the first time. The cinematic lens acts as a filter and at the same time an instrument of cultural resistance through which the stories of the Palestinians are told. Nazra therefore proposes itself as an archive of the Palestinian short film, sublimating its avant-garde spirit and amplifying the voice of Palestinian and other directors who would otherwise have no space.
> This is how Nazra was born and grew as a travelling festival, where a national organizing committee is in charge of selecting and building year by year the archive – a powerful tool for the preservation and dissemination of Palestinian memory threatened since 1948 and increasingly so today – that the various stops of the Nazra tour contribute to amplify and spread at a local level.

We will show 5 films selected by the festival's award committee, which will be announced in the beginning of October. The Copenhagen event will take place on 13th of October 2026, from 18:00 to 21:00 in Folketshus Café. The event's description and schedule will be updated accordingly once the film selection has been announced.
The Copenhagen screening is hosted by Crisis Mirror and persons in solidarity with Palestine.
