Talk - GLP-1 and the clinical insights for women’s health
Host: Lorna Driver Davies
Info: The emerging clinical picture of Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) Receptor Agonists reveals a therapeutic potential that is far more comprehensive than mere euglycemic control and appetite suppression. For many Naturopathic Nutritionists, integrating this rapidly evolving area can feel overwhelming due to the sheer volume of new mechanistic research and the necessity of safely supporting clients using these pharmaceuticals. The complexity of translating the technical science of GLP-1 agonism into a functional nutrition protocol often creates a daunting clinical gap.
This workshop is specifically designed to bridge that gap by demystifying the common issue areas seen in practice. We will dive into the most frequent challenges—including managing side effects, optimizing nutrient status alongside treatment, and personalized post-treatment support—to provide you with practical, actionable clinical support.

Workshop - Beyond Calories and Ozempic: The Breath-Body Connection
Host: Kelly Youren and Susie Wilows

Transform Your Clinical Practice with Evidence-Based Breathwork Integration
Are your clients struggling with weight management despite following optimal nutritional protocols? The missing piece may be hiding in plain sight—in every breath they take.
This clinically-focused session bridges the gap between nutritional therapy and somatic practice, exploring how chronic stress, unresolved trauma, and dysregulated breathing patterns directly influence metabolic function, cortisol regulation, and fat storage.
You'll discover why calming the nervous system isn't just beneficial for mental health—it's essential for sustainable weight management and metabolic balance.

A workshop looking at how we can support GLP1 through TCM
Host: Ron Prescott
Info: A workshop looking at how we can support GLP1 through traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) using acupressure which identifies several points that support digestion, pancreatic function, metabolism, and satiety — all of which can indirectly support GLP-1 balance.
We will go through a traditional acupressure protocol designed to enhance gut signalling, regulate appetite, and steady blood sugar — all naturally aligned with GLP-1 function.
Also integrating a short Qigong sequence and stretching plan designed to gently activate digestive meridians (Stomach, Spleen, Liver, and Conception Vessel), stimulate abdominal blood flow, and relax the vagus-nerve pathway — the body’s natural trigger for gut-brain hormone signals like GLP-1.
