Natural Hair Fest Nashville and AFROINTL Fashion Show Nashville Announce Major Celebration of Natural Beauty, Fashion, and Cultural Empowerment in 2026
NASHVILLE , TENNESSEE — Natural Hair Fest Nashville 2026 and AFROINTL Fashion Show Nashville will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at the Courtyard by Marriott Nashville Downtown located at 170 4th Avenue North in the Exchange Meeting Room, Nashville , TN 37219, United States.
Recognized as one of the nation’s emerging multicultural beauty and lifestyle platforms, Natural Hair Fest Nashville is a convention and celebration dedicated to natural beauty, healthy haircare practices, and community empowerment. The event will feature live product demonstrations, moderated discussions, educational presentations, networking opportunities, fashion showcases, and special guest appearances designed to inspire and educate consumers, beauty professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives, and emerging brands.
Natural Hair Fest Nashville provides a supportive platform for individuals who embrace hair in its natural state while promoting the use of natural, organic, vegan, and holistic haircare and skincare regimens. The event also serves as a road show experience that allows emerging brands to engage new customers through face-to-face, in-person, and online connections in one of the world’s most influential cultural markets.
The addition of AFROINTL Fashion Show Nashville brings together fashion, beauty, music, art, and cultural expression for a dynamic presentation celebrating textured hair, multicultural beauty, and contemporary style. Designers, models, hairstylists, barbers, makeup artists, photographers, and creatives from across the country are expected to participate in what organizers anticipate will be one of the organization’s largest events of the year.
Natural Hair Fest continues to support awareness surrounding the importance of inclusion and equal opportunity through conversations connected to the The CROWN Coalition and the historic The CROWN Act movement. “Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair” remains the driving force behind the legislation originally championed by Holly J. Mitchell in California. The CROWN Act became the first state-level legislation in the United States prohibiting discrimination based on hairstyle and hair texture, protecting the rights of individuals to wear natural hairstyles such as braids, locs, twists, knots, and Afros in workplaces and public schools.
Tennessee's CROWN Act prohibits private and public employers from adopting policies that restrict natural hairstyles. Employers in Nashville and across the state cannot penalize or discriminate against employees who wear braids, locs, twists, or other styles symbolic of their ethnic or cultural identity.
Key Provisions
- Protected Styles: The law safeguards natural textures and protective styles historically associated with race.
- Worker Protections: Any workplace grooming or dress code that outright bans these hairstyles is legally discriminatory and considered void.
ExceptionsThe CROWN Act does not apply to:
- Public Safety Employees: If a hairstyle directly prevents the employee from performing the essential, day-to-day functions of their job.
- Health & Safety Policies: Rules that an employer is required to adopt to comply with federal or state health, safety, or industry standards.
Enforcement and Limitations
- No Private Right of Action: The Tennessee law does not allow employees to file a direct private lawsuit in civil court against their employers.
- How to Report: Employees facing hair-based discrimination can file an official complaint directly with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
- Employer Penalties: If found in violation, the Department of Labor may issue penalties, fines, or mandatory remedial actions, though first-time violators are typically given a warning if they comply.
For further guidance or to report a violation, you can review the full statute details via the Tennessee General Assembly Bill Info portal.
Attendees can expect a vibrant atmosphere featuring:
