Information
Step into a world of memory, desire, and restless thought. First, Alexandra Dovgan makes her NSO season debut performing Tchaikovskys Piano Concerto No. 2. Moving between intimate piano passages and surges of sound, Tchaikovskys melodies appear and return with the persistence of a half remembered thought. In Sibelius Second Symphony, fragments gather gradually with music that seems to find itself and evolve with every note. Gustavo Gimeno conducts this program evoking the strange logic of dreams: familiar sounds taking on new shapes, ideas returning in altered forms, and memories that refuse to stay still.
