About this Event
The tour is limited to 6 participants.
To understand artworks within the historical, cultural, and economic context of the periods in which they were created gives us the ability to read and interpret paintings more deeply.
With this tour, we will examine works from the Medieval and Renaissance periods and develop that ability together. At the end of the tour, you will see paintings with different eyes.
Some example items we will touch upon
- The general belief system of the Medieval and Renaisance Era
- Feudalism
- The shifts in ways of thinking of society towards Renaissance era and its reflection in art
- Cimabue
- Duccio
- Botticelli
