The Nashville Producer Meetup brings producers, engineers, and audio creatives together at HOME for honest feedback, real craft conversation, and direct access to working professionals who rarely talk this openly outside a session.
This month’s guest is Sir the Baptist — a three-time Grammy winner, BMI Songwriter of the Year, and genre-bending artist and producer whose catalog has crossed 500 million streams. He’s built his sound at the intersection of gospel, hip-hop, and spoken word, collaborated with Pharrell, Chance the Rapper, Yolanda Adams, and Donald Lawrence, and built his own label, institutions, and body of work along the way.
For producers, that’s the conversation worth showing up for: how he builds records with a genre of their own, how he’s sustained a decade-plus career without a traditional system behind him, and how he makes music with a real point of view.
What the evening looks like:
- 6:00PM - Open networking. These are working producers and engineers, not people handing out business cards hoping something sticks.
- 6:30 PM - Intimate Q&A with a monthly featured guest. This is where you hear how someone actually built something, not the version they'd give in an interview.
- 7:15 PM - Small-group listening sessions in HOME's 24/7 studios (bring a track or just your ears)
Bring something in progress if you have it. Leave with at least one conversation you'll still be thinking about on Wednesday.

ABOUT SIR THE BAPTIST
Dr. Sir William James the Baptist, known as Sir the Baptist, is a multi-genre artist, writer, composer, producer, and entrepreneur whose catalog has crossed 500 million streams. He’s a three-time Grammy winner, two-time GMA Dove Award winner, Stellar Award winner, BMI Songwriter of the Year, and a Recording Academy Best Song for Social Change nominee, with an RIAA Gold record for his song “Deliver Me.” His Grammy-winning work spans traditions from roots gospel to spoken word poetry.
Early in his career he facilitated a deal with Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group, and his debut release, Saint or Sinner, helped shape a distinctive expression of urban Christianity that became central to urban gospel. He holds an honorary doctorate from Tennessee State University for his work revitalizing the tradition of Negro Spirituals, and was inducted as an honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi, a fraternity whose honorary members include Ray Charles, Count Basie, and Dizzy Gillespie.
Over the past decade, Sir has expanded well beyond the boundaries of a traditional artist, building music, media, institutions, educational initiatives, and technology around the belief that spiritual purpose belongs within contemporary culture rather than apart from it. His collaborations span Pharrell Williams, Chance the Rapper, Tony Bennett, Brandy, Musiq Soulchild, Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, and Donald Lawrence, among many others. He’s opened for Beyoncé, Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige, and Lana Del Rey, and performed at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, SXSW, and Essence, with press coverage from Forbes, CNN, NPR Music, Rolling Stone, and Billboard.
In 2026 he released Outside, the opening chapter of Human Halos — a new body of work exploring faith, identity, and the calling to carry a message beyond traditional institutions. He debuted the single at Chicago’s Obama Presidential Center alongside the Leo Catholic Choir, becoming the first gospel artist to perform on the stage of its Presidential Theater.

Shalom “J.Storm” Miller is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning producer, songwriter, and engineer whose credits include Beyoncé, Gwen Stefani, Missy Elliott, and more. Originally from New Jersey and now based in Nashville, he is the founder of Power Move Management Group and has worked across pop, R&B, gospel, and beyond. Beyond his own career, Shalom is dedicated to mentorship and education, empowering artists with the tools to build sustainable futures in music.
