IMPORTANT NOTE!!
If you are going to the barbeque and do not have a military ID card, you must get a visitor's pass from Fort Hood in order to enter the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA). Each individual must have a visitor's pass unless they are a military ID card holder. To do this:
Go to:
https://pass.aie.army.mil/steps/branch_selection to apply for a visitor's pass online. Select Army, then Fort Hood. The pass type is Visitor's Pass. You will be asked for your personal information, including driver's license number and social security number.
State your purpose for the visit: visiting friends
Await a text notification stating approval or denial.
Once approved, go to the Marvin Leath Visitor Center, 69004 T.J. Mills Blvd., Building 69012, Fort Hood, TX 76544. Use one of the self-service kiosks to scan your ID and print your visitor's pass.
You may also go in-person to the visitor center and apply for a pass. Doing it online shortens the process considerably.
