Every practitioner begins by developing their eyes before developing their hands. This two-day introduction explores the principles that underpin Myofascial Release for Postural Integration and forms the foundation on which the rest of the training programme is built. It is an ideal starting point for manual therapists, bodyworkers and movement professionals who want structured, confident myofascial skills.
We begin with posture, not as a fixed shape but as an expression of whole-body organisation. You will look at the body's continual process of adaptation, how inefficient organisation influences movement and function, and why structural assessment sits at the heart of effective treatment. From there we turn to fascia itself: its architecture and composition, collagen, elastin, water and ground substance, and the superficial, deep and visceral systems that form one continuous, communicating network.
Working in pairs, you will learn to carry out a comprehensive postural assessment and to recognise common structural presentations. Practical sessions then introduce cross-handed superficial myofascial release, applied with sensitivity so you begin to appreciate the subtle changes happening beneath your fingertips as tissue softens and reorganises. Assessment is woven throughout, so after each application you reassess and see for yourself how posture responds. Day two moves into deep myofascial release and directional work, following the orientation of the fascial fibres.
Running through both days is the development of therapeutic touch, learning to feel a technique rather than simply perform one.
The programme continues the tradition of structural bodywork opened up by Dr Ida Rolf, combined with contemporary clinical experience and practical application.
