People's Bookshop is delighted to welcome MW Bewick and Michael Brown reading from & discussing their poetry.
MW Bewick's first full collection of poems, Scarecrow, was published in 2017 and a second, Pomes Flixus followed in 2020 . Since then he has published several pamphlets including The Zircon Ferries (2021), The End of Music (2022), A Study of a Long-Lived Magma Ocean on a Young Moon (2022) and Bubblegum (2023)
His new collection, Borderlands (Blueprint Poetry Press, 2026), explores the shifting dividing lines between places, between people, between emotion and intellect, between thought and language.
Michael Brown is a poet and PHD student at Loughborough University where his research explores the relationship between depression and lyric poetry. His first full collection, Where Grown Men Go, was published in 2019. In addition, he has published several pamphlets, including: Undersong (2013), Locations for a Soul (2016), Right of Way (2023) and Our Fathers (2024).
Michael's new collection, The Dens (Blueprint Poetry Press, 2026) is a sensitive and expertly crafted exploration of a working class boyhood, and the journey through to manhood.
Doors are at 6:30 for a 7:00pm start. Tickets are £5.00 and, as always, include drinks & nibbles.
The poets' latest pamphlets from Blueprint Poetry Press -- as well as some of their earlier work -- will be available gor purchase on the night.
