About this Event
Due to the high demand for our workshop on the 10th May, we have managed to arrange another date for the following week for the 1 hour self-defence training and talk on the impact of ADHD and the increased risk faced by ADHD women to domestic violence.
Following the recent incident in a local park, many in our community have been left feeling unsettled and concerned about safety, particularly for young women and girls. This event has been created as a proactive, supportive space to come together, build confidence, and feel more prepared.
We are hosting a self-defence and awareness workshop in Muswell Hill, designed for women and young girls, led by a specialist training company.
What the session will cover:
- Practical, easy-to-learn self-defence techniques for common situations
- Striking basics using pads
- Knife awareness and defence
- Mindset, mindfulness, and managing fear or aggression
- Understanding legal boundaries: what you are allowed to do to protect yourself
- Conflict recognition and de-escalation
- Everyday street awareness
- Open Q&A
Talk On The Increased Risk To Abusive Relationships Faced By ADHD Women & Girls:
After a short break with drinks and snacks, there will be an informal talk and discussion focused on awareness around vulnerability in relationships, including how ADHD traits can increase risk, what warning signs to look out for, and how to better support ourselves and younger women in staying safe and informed.
Ticket price covers the cost of the self defence training provided by London Self Defence Academy and is per person. The talk we are hosting for free as part of the event as our focus is to increase awareness and readiness but also to bring together the community and empower the local women and girls to feel safe, supported and strong! 🩷
This event is not about fear, it’s about feeling more prepared, informed, and supported within our local community.
Spaces are limited as the first event sold out, so please book early if you’d like to attend.
If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch and please share with anyone locally who might benefit.

The Increased Risk To Abusive Relationships Faced By ADHD Women & Girls
Host: Stephanie Camilleri - Founder of Empower & Ascend ADHD
Info: Women with ADHD often grow up feeling 'too much', 'not enough', or fundamentally 'flawed'. Conditioned to mask, minimize, over-explain, and apologize to keep the peace, they are led by Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, making them terrified of upsetting others. When you're conditioned to please, you stop noticing the moment a line is crossed. This talk explores how ADHD traits can lead to increased vulnerability to domestic violence, what to look out for and how to help support and change the narrative so that together we can end the invisible trap that destroys the lives of thousands of women and girls.
