MUSIC LEADER PEER SUPPORT NETWORK FOR WEST MIDLANDS BASED MUSICIANS

A space for music practitioners to come together to network, share successes and challenges, trial ideas and get tips & inspiration.
About this Event

Quench Arts is leading a quarterly, face-to-face, music leader peer support network. Aimed at any practitioner delivering music opportunities as part of their role, the sessions will provide a supportive space for people to network, trial new activities, discuss ideas and challenges and gain tips and inspiration. You can be an experienced practitioner or just starting your career.

These sessions will be facilitated by James Stanley. James is a multi-instrumentalist, avid songwriter and also highly skilled in music technology, regularly writing for film and media. He is currently a lead artist on numerous Quench Arts’ music and wellbeing programmes as well as working for other music organisations across the West Midlands. He regularly delivers training sessions for Quench Arts.

An element of each session will focus on a specific topic , with suggestions from the group welcome for future sessions. James will prepare some activities and discussion starters for each session but will open the floor to everyone attending to contribute their own ideas and opinions. He will also offer some space for people to trial a practical activity of their own if they want to (please let us know on the booking form if you'd like to have some time set aside for a short practical activity).

Sessions are FREE and to recognise that most people attending will be freelancers who are potentially giving up other paid work, we can pay £25.42 (£12.71 per hour, real living wage) for attendance on receipt of an invoice thanks to funding from Youth Music. Places are strictly limited.

We may be able to support some additional access costs if needed. Please get in touch on [email protected].

Venue: Afro Caribbean Millennium Centre, 339 Dudley Road, Birmingham B18 4HB.

Time: 7-9pm
