For more than 250 years, communities across America have united, building the nation brick by brick and note by note. This summer’s “From Sea to Shining Sea: 250 Years of Sound” program commemorates the country’s semiquincentennial by tracing the rich history of American music through the ages. Using a mix of strong yet sensitive vocals and mountain dulcimer, bodhran, accordion and fiddle, this quartet “make[s]” the kind of music you’d only expect to hear on the west coast of Ireland” (The Metro Times). As a family band, their bond is evident in both their music and stage presence, as audiences are treated to spontaneous, good-natured banter, jokes and conversation.
Music in the Market programming is located at Detroit Central Market found in Greenfield Village. Access to Music in the Market is free for members or included with village admission.
