I’m Karen Connelly. You might know my bestselling books The Lizard Cage or Touch the Dragon. I’m also a hypnotherapist and educator who has helped hundreds of women transform their lives, write brilliant books of their own, and do deep healing work. Every May I bring a small retreat group to my family olive grove in Greece.

This November I’ll open my Toronto home for one night to share a taste of that olive‑grove magic. Really! We'll have olive oil from my trees.

I’m hosting this curated Salon in Toronto, serving up Greek wine, tea and snacks, a myth shared by candlelight, time to talk and laugh.

About Muse Time and my work

My award-winning books about Thailand, Myanmar, Greece, and the lives of women are all sweet praise for Muse Time in action. Over three decades as an author, educator, and therapist (I’ve written and published a dozen books), hundreds of women I’ve worked with have described the same desire: to create a new story for themselves.

What often helps is not more discipline but more fun —a writing practice that includes play, joyful community, a direct connect to pleasure, the Earth, & our ancestral wisdom (not only the trauma of the past but our resilience too).

I first became fully aware of these lively energies while living in Greece in my early twenties, in the olive grove that became my other home.

This is for creative women who want a brief, nourishing immersion in Muse Time. Enjoy the gift of presence, women talking, some mythic Greek light and warmth.
