🎮🚲👻 THE ARCADE SHENANIGANS ARE BACK ON BICYCLES! 👻🚲🎮Last year, Sanford Bicycle Club turned the streets of downtown Sanford into a giant real-life arcade with our Human Pac-Man Ride.
It was chaotic.
It was ridiculous.
It was a HUGE hit.
So of course we’re doing it again.
But this year, we’re changing the game…
🎀🟡 THIS YEAR, IT’S MS. PAC-MAN! 🟡🎀
Welcome to the…
🎮🚲 SANFORD BICYCLE CLUB MS. PAC-MAN RIDE! 🚲🎮
We’ll once again transform a prescribed grid of downtown Sanford streets into our very own giant Pac-Man maze.
🕹️ HERE’S HOW THE GAME WORKS:
🟡 One rider begins as Ms. Pac-Man.
👻 Everyone else begins as a Ghost.
🚲 Everyone MUST remain inside the designated downtown street grid. The grid is the maze. No sneaking outside the boundaries to escape or cut somebody off.
🎀 Ms. Pac-Man gets released into the maze.
Then…
👻👻👻 THE GHOSTS ARE RELEASED! 👻👻👻
The Ghosts spread out through the grid trying to find Ms. Pac-Man, anticipate where she’s headed and cut off her escape.
And here’s the twist:
🚨 IF A GHOST GETS WITHIN A FEW FEET OF MS. PAC-MAN, SHE’S CAUGHT!
The Ghost who caught her immediately becomes the NEW MS. PAC-MAN. 🎀
The former Ms. Pac-Man returns to Dees Brothers Brewery, resets as a Ghost, and heads right back into the maze to join the hunt for the new Ms. Pac-Man.
Then it happens again.
And again.
And again.
🎀 ➡️ 👻 ➡️ 🎀 ➡️ 👻 ➡️ 🎀
Catch Ms. Pac-Man. Become Ms. Pac-Man. Get caught. Reset. Hunt again.
There’s no predetermined route. You choose your own streets within the grid.
Maybe you chase her.
Maybe you try to predict where she’s going.
Maybe you set up the perfect interception.
Maybe you spend 15 minutes riding around downtown wondering where the heck everybody went. 😂
All are legitimate strategies.
🍒 Bonus fruit: unlikely.
⚡ Power pellets: unavailable.
👻 Ghost alliances: perfectly acceptable.
🗺️ Leaving the maze: CHEATING.
🚲 Physical contact: ABSOLUTELY NOT. Getting within a few feet counts as the tag. Nobody needs to touch, bump or cut off another bicycle.
🚦 And remember, we may be pretending downtown Sanford is an arcade, but normal traffic laws still apply.
💡 HEADLIGHTS AND TAILLIGHTS REQUIRED.
⛑️ Helmets strongly encouraged.
🍺 Dees Brothers Brewery is HOME BASE, where a captured Ms. Pac-Man resets before heading back into the game as a ghost.
Last year Pac-Man got his turn.
This year?
🎀 MS. PAC-MAN OWNS THE MAZE.
🕹️ INSERT COIN.
🚲 GET ON YOUR BIKE.
👻 RELEASE THE GHOSTS.
🎮 GAME ON.
